My family and I spent one night at the Lake Lodge on arrival in Sri Lanka at the end of March, before shipping out to Dambula the next day. Had we known how nice the Lake Lodge (and Colombo) would be, we probably would have spent longer. It\'s a simple place in a remarkably tranquil setting - down a small lane at the edge of the lake. The rooms are unfussy, but comfortable cool and quite stylish. We had one of the nicest meals of our holiday on the day we arrived - deliciousThai curries made with lovely fresh ingredients and a distinctive Sri Lankan twist - and the service was great. Maybe it was the been jet-lag/sleep deprivation, but we all had a fantastic night's sleep at the Lake Lodge, and our stay there set us right and our way to one of the best holiday's we've ever had. We stay again when next in Colombo.

During the stay at Royal Palms it was a homely feeling, the atmosphere,services and the surrounding was tremendous. The pool was very much ideal for my kids where they enjoyed so much because of the Jacuzzi s.
